Our Christian Distinctiveness

Christian Community

Dodleston C of E Primary School aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experiences it offers to all its pupils. As a Church of England Primary School we promote a Christian ethos and an understanding of the beliefs and traditions of the Christian faith as interpreted by the Church of England. Christian based assemblies are held every day and children are encouraged to develop a reflective spirituality.  Prayers are said every day.The school has close links with St Mary's Church and the Dodleston Village Foundation.

Mission Statement

We nurture and develop children’s love of learning through an inclusive school environment. Our distinctive Christian ethos permeates all aspects of school life, developing confident and respectful learners. We value being at the heart of the local community, linking school, church and families; past, present and future. Our school places British values at its core, challenging and inspiring children to develop the independence and resilience to guide them through life as citizens of the world.

We consider it important that children are given strong moral and spiritual guidance as part of their education, so they are able to judge right from wrong and develop their own spirituality.

At Dodleston C of E Primary School we believe that spiritual development is not necessarily religious but is a ‘concern to foster the growth of the human spirit’.  We consider that spiritual development is about helping children to develop academically but more importantly personally so that they become well rounded and ready to take their place in society fulfilled, happy, spiritually aware as well as socially and emotionally engaged. We believe that spirituality is essential for personal happiness.

Dodleston C of E Primary School aims to provide each child with the opportunity to achieve his or her potential regardless of background. We endeavour to do this by promoting the whole child: spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical. While in our care, we want every child to believe that they are amazing, loved, valued, wonderful and unique, because God made them that way.

'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'
