Pupil Premium Statement 2023-24Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium Grant is funding provided to schools in addition to main school funding. It is allocated according to the number of pupils on-roll who are eligible for free school meals (FSM), and pupils who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the previous six years.  There is a slightly larger amount allocated for children who have been adopted from care, and a smaller amount allocated according to the children of service families (for mentoring and emotional support), and an allocation for each pupil who has been ‘Looked After’ by the Local Authority in the previous 12 months.

It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility, but there is an expectation that the grant should be used to ensure that all disadvantaged pupils are supported in making progress, with the majority of pupils reaching the expected standard in English and Maths.  Schools are to be held accountable for how they have used the additional funding to support the education of pupils from low-income families.

We are required to provide a summary of our Pupil Premium strategy for the previous academic year, as well as details about our Pupil Premium strategy for the current school year. Please find this document below:
